Tournaments for stronger and weaker chess players, both men and women of all ages, will be held. The tournaments are played in closed groups, each consisting of 10 players. Cash or souvenir prizes are awarded to all participants (total prize fund: 80,000 CZK, approx. 3,200 EUR). A rich programme is prepared for both chess players and non-chess players.

Founder of the International Chess Holiday:
Jaroslav Pelikán /1927-1997/ was one of the tireless chess organizers in the Czech Republic, who devoted most of his time and energy to young people. He lived and worked in the Central Bohemian town of Český Brod. He was a teacher of foreign languages and later became the headmaster of a grammar school. He participated in the organization of Grand Prizes which were very popular in the 60s and 70s. Under the leadership of Mr. Pelikan the chess team of Český Brod won the the Zaječice Prize several times starting in 1964. Under his leadership a small town with population of about 5,000 people had a team that took part in important league tournaments. However, the greatest achievement of the final period of his life was organising the International Chess Holiday, which featured closed tournaments. We can say that it is a real world rarity.

We prepare special entertaining programmes for the participants of the tournaments as well as for all the other guests.
